I've just moved to Vancouver, and excited to build new networks in my (new) community. While looking for full time work, I find myself with extra time aching to be invested back into the community. I am looking to play a more active role in ensuring my community is sustainable and resilient. With limited knowledge of the full extent /activities/areas requiring help of VV, I am open to offer my skills, time and energy in any capacity needed.

Whitney,

Welcome to the Village.  It may look overwhelming, but Village members are involved together in hundreds of activities, from building urban agriculture seed libraries to neighbourhood bulletin boards.

Next week in the Main Street Neighbourhood, we have our monthly potluck at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House, a community space with a kitchen and common room where we meet, eat together and learn about something new.  This month we'll have two urban beekeepers talk about raising bees in their backyards.  We'll eat together and network for about an hour and then talk bees. The event posting is here, and it takes place on Main Street at 24th Avenue, easy to get to by public transit.

You can RSVP here,or just show up, and bring anything you'd like to share.  Feel free to attend anything Citywide and we have many, many events listed on this site.

Randy
