Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities
By planting upwards instead of outwards, you’ll be better equipped to garden in tight spaces wether it be indoors or outdoors. You can find VV’s vertical garden at McBride Park by the entrance of the Fieldhouse, full of herbs! Introduction to Vertical Gardening workshops are always being hosted, check our website for details.
At McBride Park Fieldhouse, enjoy VV cooking, fermenting, preserving and DIY demonstrations, timely gardening workshops such as Spice up Your Garden with Garlic and Planning Your Spring Garden as well as Growing Your Own Microgreens, children's workshops including Hapa-Zome and Natural Pigments, and other plant, health, and and/or creative DIY offerings like Cattail Containers, Delving into Natural Dyes, Making Beeswax Salves, Making Incense 101/Flower Essences, HeArt for the Soul: Echinacea - Restoring the Ability to Self-Heal and HeArt for the Soul: Rosemary - Restoring the Ability to Self-Heal. We also offer other activities (most of which are free) such as Permaculture Vancouver Meetups, Community Gardening Opportunity Info Sessions, and vertical gardening at McBride, and you can pick up some seeds for gardening, a small planter box kit, a native bee house, and/or seedlings (when available). (Separate registration required for each activity. and all workshops are free for Seniors 50 and over.)
