Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Hi, the 2nd Sunday potluck will next Sunday, December 12 from 4-7pm  at my housing co-op's common room 2035 Trafalgar Street.

4-5pm - Come early and do some crafts: I'll put supplies out for making holiday cards, westcoast ornaments (oyster shells with decoration) and - dried magnolia leaves which I'm told you can cut out designs for a lantern.  I work for the Community Arts Council of Vancouver, and we're trying to design a participative community lantern for the solstice, and the leaves are about making some kind of prototype.

Kids welcome with their adult of course.

5-7pm eating! We have a stove with an oven and a small microwave / no fridge/

We have plates, cutlery, mugs and some pots. Not much in the way of serving platters.

Bring a mathom if you wish. http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Mathom
(Mathom was the hobbit term for anything which they had no use for but were unwilling to throw
away. Their holes and houses usually were quite crowded with mathoms)

We'll line them all up and you may go home with something you like better than what you brought.

On the evening, if you're late or lost call my cell 604-617-0142

The door to 2035 is the only door that goes down stairs in the 10-unit townhouse building on the west side of Trafalgar between 4 1/2 and 5 - i.e. on the south side of the lane.

People some times have a hard time seeing it the first time they come, but if you go to the middle of the building and look for a set of stairs going down, you'll find us!

Please RSVP on the event page or send me a note to maryinvancouver@gmail.com

I know one of the topics will be the Kits Village collaborative garden.

I'm heading out at 7pm to go to the Unitarian Church for a 7:30pm choir & readings service so have made this earlier than originally advertised. Hope that works for people
