Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Time: August 30, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm
Location: 5th and Vine

Come enjoy a meal created and hosted by your neighbor at 5th and Vine. Open to anyone, the drop-ins are especially aimed at neighbours living close to the host (within 2 or 3 blocks).

This is one in a series of dinners, supported by a Green Neighbourhood Small Grant from the Vancouver Foundation (administered by Kits Neighbourhood House), to increase awareness of our food sources and promote community connections.

The source of the ingredients will be tracked, and we'll collate how local our eating habits are at the community gathering.

They’re called Drop-in “Spaghetti” nights, because many of the ones we've held in the past have involved serving spaghetti. This meal, however, will focus on fresh and local produce and perhaps meats and/or cheeses.

Limited to 12 participants.

Exact address will be emailed the day before the event to those who RSVP.

Transportation

If you have to leave your village, how will you get where you want to go? By car? Preferably not, both for your wallet and the earth’s sake. This category is for all discussions relating to how we all get around.

Housing

A human right? After food, most feel shelter is the most important necessity. A place of shelter is also the start of a community. This category is for all things relating to shelter, housing, affordable housing, homes, renewable heating systems, green buildings, heritage, and our built environment in general.
