Event Description

Come learn how to make your own traditional, fermented sauerkraut using local, organic produce.  Fermented vegetables have many health benefits, including live enzymes, readily available vitamins and minerals, and probiotics -- and sauerkraut and other fermented vegetables are suitable for everyone!  If possible, each person should bring a large knife, cutting board, large bowl, cheese grater and one liter-size wide-mouth mason jar with lid. Participants will go home with a jar of sauerkraut to ferment at home, which should be ready to eat in about two weeks.

VV will have a seed library present; bring some seeds to swap, if you'd like.

Limited to 12 participants. The workshop was full, but two folks have cancelled, so currently room for two more!

RSVP here or to ross.wenfn@gmail.com.

Watch for additional WENFN workshops, potlucks and other activities at WECC and Gordon Neighbourhood House.

Ongoing: Food Scrap Drop Spots -- every Tuesday from 6-7:30 pm and Saturday from 10-noon @Gordon Neighbourhood House and every Saturday from 10-noon @WECC.

WENFN is sponsored by Gordon Neighbourhood House.
