Event Description

Please RSVP here, and register with Strathcona Community Centre.

VV presents a presentation on this exciting initiative that any neighbourhood or neighbourhood village can do.

The idea is simple: invite everyone from both sides of two city blocks to come to a meeting about helping each other grow more food. Some people have tools, others have knowledge of starting plants from seed, others are experts in garden bed preparation and with many hands, the work is fun.

Join Kate and Julia for slides and thoughts on how to replicate/adapt this very simple model.

To register: Strathcona CC 604.713.1838. You can register by phone with a credit card; or in person with cash or a credit card.
Fee: $10.00. Subsidies are available to low income residents of Vancouver with a Leisure Access Card. For details on how to apply, please contact Strathcona CC or visit  http://vancouver.ca/parks/rec/lac/index.htm (You can see a list of benefits there, including free admission to all Park Board public swimming and ice skating sessions, and use of skates during public skating sessions.)

No one turned away for lack of funds; If you can't afford to pay anything, please contact Ross (ross@villagevancouver.ca).

Yes, having to formally register the day of the event. Sorry, can not make the extra trip out to pay in person prior to the day of the event, but am looking forward to attending!

Name given to programmer and Community centre for registration as they are requiring in person payment as my fee is only 5.60 with LAC.
