Event Description

Wolfgang Forster fell ill and could not make it to Vancouver.

Please join us, Saturday November 16th from 3-6pm for a round table discussion and workshop with Wolfgang Förster*, the Head of Housing Research Department of the City of Vienna.

In the City of Vienna today, about 60% of the Viennese population lives in municipally built, owned, or managed housing. For the past four consecutive years, Vienna topped the Mercer “Quality of Living” survey as the city boasting the highest quality of life in the world, was ranked second in The Economist’s 2012 “World’s Most Livable City”, and number eight in Monocle’s 2012 “World’s Most Livable Cities”.

In this special engagement with the Social Housing Coalition and our communities, Wolfgang Förster will join veteran activist Jean Swanson and community members living in social housing, for an opportunity to build our analysis and imagine new possibilities as we contend with BC’s housing crisis.
