Event Description

Please join us for an open colloquium being hosted by the Centre for Research on Personhood in Dementia (CRPD)!

Presenter: Dr. Marcel Arcand, MD, MSc
Professor, Family Medicine at the University of Sherbrook
Researcher, Sherbrooke Research Centre on Aging.

We are delighted to have Dr. Marcel Arcand, present his work related
to working with Families about Comfort Care in Advanced Dementia. His
presentation is designed to help participants:
a) gain better understanding of the relevance of the palliative/comfort
care option in advanced dementia;
b) Know factors that influence families who represent patients to choose life-prolonging therapy vs. comfort care only;
c) Learn about ongoing research done on the acceptability and usefulness of a booklet for families about demetnia end-of-life issues.

Please join us for a discussion about this interesting and important
topic! We look forward to seeing you.

If you have questions feel free to contact Deborah O'Connor
