Car Free Day

We are being enthusiastically encouraged by the organizers of the People's Summit to put together a 'village' at as part of their space at the Main St. Car Free Day. We will be at the corner or 30th and Main (from Main and 30th to 33rd is a space that has been designated for the 'People's summit', and there are various organizations that will be part of this.

Our village could potentially be many things -- think chickens, compost, seed balls, permaculture, 2 block, plant/seed swap, bees, solar panels, displays, demos/mini workshops, films (?), hospitality area (ala our folk fest booth), homemade buttons, visioning posters, pictures, lit, books, reps from neighbourhood villages, working groups, NOW BC, kids stuff, etc. - a positive vision of what could be. Our village could encompass an area of up to 4-5 tents, plus untented space.

We are looking for folks who can be present on the day to lead workshops, answer questions, mingle and if folks can't make it to the event, we're in need of materials (arts & crafts, felt pens, paint, solar cooker, etc etc)

This will allow for us to coordinate and self-organize since we've just got the next couple weeks to bring it all together. It it set up so anyone who wants to contribute can sign up for the activities they want to take part in (feel free to add to the activities listed). Feel free to share the link!
