In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Downtown East Side
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
the arts, place-making, the local fibre-shed, learning skills together, urban homesteading
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
As a community engaged eco-artist, I have projects running in the dtes, strathcona and mount pleasant areas. I am keen to continue sharing what I do with a broader community, and reaching out more to the village vancouver community for for various workshops I host or lead.
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
There is so much going on in the city, it is hard to keep track of all the projects, and know how to find the right people interested in the specific things going on. I am happy to begin sharing some of the local fibre shed projects with village Vancouver, so people can learn where their clothing comes from, and learn basic skills that will allow more local choices and foster cloth awareness in the community.

Was so impressed at the Village Vancouver community turn out in the pouring rain last week for a workshop I hosted, it spurred me on to finally take a moment, join the community "officially" and post more for other upcoming events.
