Neighbours sharing interest in community, sustainability and resiliency. Potlucks, collaborative gardening, permaculture, workshops, demonstration sustainable village, fruit orchard, green spaces, block parties, drop-in spaghetti nights, emergency preparedness, community arts, seed library/collective, collaborations with other community groups, canning, plastic recycling depot, straw/feed deliveries, dinner groups, slow food/slow everything day, work parties, vegan soup nights, movie nights, Folk Festival, bees, chickens, Celebration of Light, Thanksgiving get together, Neighbourhood Food Network, Westside Food Collaborative and Westside Community Food Market, sustainability library, Salon d'Elan Vital, impromptu gatherings, less consuming and more fun! COMMUNITY RESILIENCE and SELF-RELIANCE.
Kits Village Permaculture Guild two food forests and looking for new projects.
REGULAR ACTIVTIES (partial list)
Unless noted, all activities are open to everyone. Please contact Ross at ross@villagevancouver for more info.
Monthly Potluck 2nd Sundays 6-8. Sometimes w/movie or workshop.
Salon d'Elan Vital discussion and potluck 1st Sat or Sun 1-4.
Collaborative Garden Weekly work parties, usually 3-6 Sundays
Plastics Recycling Depot Usually monthly on Thursday before 3rd Friday. July-Sept at Westside at 8th and Vine
Drop in "Spaghetti" Nights Neighbours cooking meals for other neighbours. Summer/Fall evenings run Aug-Nov.
Dinner Groups new groups starting.
Westside Collaborative Garden A balcony garden at Kits House. Weekly work parties Tuesday 4-5:30.
Seed Library/Seed Savers We meet occasionally, 2nd Tuesday morning and table the Library at street fairs, Westside Community Food Market, the KV Collaborative Garden. Free seeds, seed swapping, and donations!
Seasonal Gatherings the Celebration of Light fireworks and Folk Fest in the summer, hold a Thanksgiving Dinner and a Slow Food, Slow Everything Day in early December. (Dec 8, 2013).
From Here to There FED-AP Community Food Resiliency events at Museum of Vancouver. FHTT 4 is the closing event of the Sustenance Festival.
Brown Bag Lunches Monthly discussions around community food resilience.

Permaculture Vancouver Meetups (3rd Wednesdays VV McBride Park Fieldhouse (sometimes elsewhere) Next meetup: Special date Thursday, July 29th

West End Community Potluck/WE Urban Garden Club (3rd Sundays West End Community Centre, in July and August 4th Thursdays - July 22nd and August 26th.
