Hey folks, we are running the plant foraging workshop at Homesteader's Emporium again, Sunday May 31, 11:30-1:30. Come and learn the basics of plant ID, and make friends with some of the weeds you see every day!
We Love Weeds… Foraging 101 with Garden Understories
Get to know some of Vancouver’s most common weeds intimately. There is food and medicine all around us, and this introductory workshop will give you the knowledge to begin foraging with confidence. Participants will learn how to positively identify a few key plants, and how they can be used at home for nourishment. There will be plant samples and demonstrations. Additionally, you’ll leave with a plant info handout, recipe, and best of all – a new perspective on weeds!
(PLEASE NOTE: this workshop will feature some of the same plants as the previous one; workshops featuring a completely new plant roster to happen later in the season)
Monica Juhas of Garden Understories is a long time professional gardener who pulls weeds... and then eats them!
