Event Description

The Vancouver Book Launch of the ecotopian blockbuster Journey to the Future: A Better World Is Possible, by Victoria author Guy Dauncey. A free public event, in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation.

What do you imagine for a beautiful, green, sustainable Vancouver of the future?

In this blockbuster ecotopian novel, young protagonist Patrick Wu visits Vancouver in the year 2032, when it has become the greenest city in the world. He finds it brimming with innovation and hope, where the climate crisis is being tackled, affordable housing options have been created, the solar revolution is underway and a new green cooperative economy is taking shape. But enormous danger still lurks.

For Village Vancouver, the book is a vision of how Vancouver could really be...

Guy Dauncey is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, founder of the BC Sustainable Energy Association, an Honorary Member of the Planning Institute of BC, and the author or co-author of ten books.

David R. Boyd, co-chair of Vancouver’s Greenest City initiative, says Journey To The Future is “an imaginative tour de force, blending science, philosophy and fiction into a delightful story about how we can and must change the world.”

David Suzuki wrote that ‘Guy Dauncey’s brilliant book shows that there are solutions to the climate crisis that offer a future rich in opportunity and joy.’

Come and be inspired. Invite your friends!
