Event Description

Village Vancouver's Westside Neighbourhood Food Network, working out of the McBride Fieldhouse, maintains several community seed libraries. Free seeds (veggies, herbs, pollinator attractants, etc.) are available for gardening, as well as information on seed saving, at many local events and workshops, collaborative garden work parties, the Westside Community Food Market, the Kits Branch Vancouver Public Library, MLA David Eby's constituency office, and elsewhere. They also maintain several libraries in other parts of Vancouver.

During the pandemic, they're making seeds available by mail and by socially distanced pickup at select times outside the Fieldhouse. New seed requests will be filled in early 2021, after current COVID protocols are relaxed.

For a list of currently available seeds contact: seeds@villagevancouver.ca. Please include Seeds in the subject line. Village Vancouver can also sometimes make small donations of seeds to community, school, and other garden programs - inquiries welcome.

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Xwméthkwyiem (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
