Event Description

Hi all,

VV member Yee Tong will be conducting a workshop on Pruning, Shearing, and Garden Maintenance at the Billy Bishop Legion Hall  (1407 Laburnum St., just north of Cornwall in Kits Point) this Monday evening, June 27th.

The focus will be on Pruning and Shearing, and it'll be a hands on workshop - the idea is to help participants sharpen their skills and help the Billy prepare for its' Canada Day event. We'll be looking at both fruit bearing and ornamentals on the property (i.e the cherry tree, Mountain Elm, shrubs, etc.).

Yee is a Master Gardener and holds two Permaculture Design Certificates - one from UBC and other from the Permaculture Research Institute in Australia. He learned pruning working in an apple orchard.

Village (Kits Village) is organizing the workshop in association with the Billy and it will also be an opportunity for people to see what's happening with the new Kits Village collaborative garden.

The workshop will run from 6:30-8:30 and is by donation. Everyone is encouraged to bring their pruners and shearers, the more pairs we have there the better; please bring whatever you have.

If you're interested in participating, or have any questions, please let me know at <ross@villagevancouver.ca>

Hope you can you join us!

Be well,
Ross
