ABERTHAU GARDEN PROJECT
Located behind the Mansion, just off of NW Marine Dr, and hosted by Village Vancouver, the garden includes VV’s Demonstration Permaculture Garden, the WPG Preschool Garden and art/garden projects by artists-in-residence LocoMotoArt: Laura Lee Coles and Rob Scharein.Emphasizing permaculture design elements, including a small hugelkultur, an herb spiral, planting pollinator attractants, and saving open pollinated seeds, the garden offers fun, inclusive social, educational, culinary and cultural activities for community members. Enjoy free or low-cost Wednesday evening cooking, fermenting and preserving demonstrations, including sauerkraut, kefir, and tastes of Korea and India, gardening workshops like early summer gardening, native edibles walks and the seed savers club.
In the garden, newer gardeners garden collaboratively alongside more experienced gardeners at our Saturday work parties, providing a learning experience for everyone. For more info or to get involved in the garden visit our Aberthau Garden Project page or email Ross Moster at firstname.lastname@example.org.
