Event Description
Vancouver's Downtown Historic Railway will be rolling again this weekend.
Come down to False Creek and experience a bit of "green" history. From the late 1800s 'till 1958, Vancouver had a fabulous electric streetcar system--and some day we will return to a similar mode of clean transportation. Interurban cars #1207 (106 years old) and 1231 (99 years old) are the only operating survivors of the BC Electric Railway which ran all the way out to Chilliwack, and south as far as Steveston, as well as operating hundreds of city streetcars.
Trains operate half-hourly between Granville Island and Cambie St., just a few steps from the Olympic Village station on the Canada Line, or from the #84 bus.
Weekends and holidays 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm (possibly later on Canada Day and Labour Day) from July 1 onwards.
$2.00 adults; $1.00 children and seniors
