Event Description

Join us at the UBC Farm for an evening dedicated to preserving and storing UBC Farm softneck garlic and flower harvests in a decorative way! Garlic braiding is a great skill either as a hobby or for small scale farmers - add value to your garlic for sale at market!

You will leave the workshop with a braid of your own making from garlic and flowers all organically-grown on the UBC Farm, as well as the knowledge to create braids of your own. The workshop price includes $15-20 worth of garlic and decorative flowers!

Erin Bett is part of the UBC Farm field staff team, and is one of the field managers for the flower and brassica fields. She is passionate about local food and flowers, and is an avid DIYer and crafter. Prior to farming at the UBC Farm, she worked with elementary school-aged children around the city, teaching them to garden, prepare and preserve food, and make nature-based crafts.
