I've put out some other plants in front of 2605 West Fifth - grape hyacinths; marjoram; oregano; lemon balm; vinca major (periwinkle - but large and variegated).
I also have some other things - including a small hydrangea bush, lambs ears; creeping jenny; sedum (large and small, but pretty ordinary). If you need some extra plants, send me a note and we can arrange something.
Most are sun loving as we face south.

Really exciting use for malls, as giant greenhouses. The article also talks about expanding their use into other more community oriented activity centers, transforming them from commercial, consumer oriented space to true community space.
May the idea spread.

We have a 3yr old semi-dwarf (15-20ft mature height) Italian plum tree that was planted in our back yard last year (current height 5ft) that we've decided won't work for our space. If you are interested send me an email.
I also have valerian, lemon balm, comfrey and perennial Welsh onion divisions.
I'm interested in lettuce and other early season seedlings.

If Cambie and 10th isn't too far, we have a communal garden with SPEC that meets every Sunday from 11-1. Let me know if you're interested and I can give you more details!

Hi everyone,
At Dan Jason's talk last night (Friday), Emily brought up the CETA agreement which could mean the end of farmer's rights to save. Here's some more information:

Wondering if there is any interest in going to "Dirt The Movie" and "Fresh" (followed by a Sustainable Agriculture Panel meeting) at the World Community Film Festival at Langara College Feb.12th. Then we could go out for dinner somewhere close by and chat about the movies, etc.
Let me know before Feb.7th. Thanks. Cylia

The Permaculture PET (blitz) day (see events page) is at my place tomorrow. It looks like we have a pretty good crowd coming, but if anyone else wants to join us or just stop by to say hi, you're more than welcome to.

Here is our original proposal for a new community collaborative garden in Riley Park near Little Mountain Neighbourhood House. First proposed by a Villager living just a half block away, this was picked up as a project by a local permaculture class, adopted by a board member of Little Mountain Neighbourhood House, and remains tied up in an application process with the City of Vancouver.
Some day. Some way.
