Profile Information:

In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
Downtown, Mount Pleasant, Strathcona, Other (indicate below)
If you don't live in Vancouver or are in another neighbourhood or community we did not list, please tell us where home is.
Crosstown
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
Urban food, permaculture, transit, walkable neighbourhoods/communities, co-housing
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
Trying to decide which village makes the most sense for where we live - in Crosstown. I'm a budding permie, have intermediate carpentry skills and don't shy away from hard work.
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
More urban gardens, green roofs, rain and greywater diversion, replacement of public grass with low-maintenance, low-water, no-pesticide perennials, creek restoration.

Crosstown needs a village, and that may be you and your neighbors' next great feat.
Welcome to the Village. We have an active group in Mount Pleasant, the Main Street Neighbourhood, and an incipient group in Strathcona. The West End is also going strong. The sad thing is that you live at heart of it all, but we've yet to be able to gather the core of a new Village right where you are.
But hey, while our permaculture rhizomes are slowly infiltrating the ground you walk on, you can attend anything anywhere anyway.
So, pitch in, dream big, and connect with any of us to have a greater impact in everything you do.
    Welcome aboard!
Randy, convenor of the Main Street 'Hood (just a short paddle up Brewery Creek from you)
