Our Transition Town on and around Main Street is at the centre of the city.  

We hold monthly potlucks and workshops the first Tuesday of every month at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House.

    Hi Main Street Area Neighbours!
    As the weather is finally getting warm I thought it would be fun to make our next gathering a picnic potluck at one of our beautiful local parks- Queen Elizabeth!
    A few people mentioned that weekdays would suit them as well and so I’m hoping Wednesday May 26th at 6:00pm works for many. Please email me at anyachase@yahoo.ca to let me know if you can make it. (Also please check your email a day or two prior in case we have to change the date due to rain)
    Please meet on the east side of the park near the corner of 33rd and Ontario

    There is a small lagoon there and we can spread out some blankets.
    Please bring a plate and cutlery and a blanket (if possible).

      Thank you again to Surrinder & Shamir for hosting the last scrumptious potluck and for the pleasure of seeing your amazing garden!         It's on! VV's BIGGEST POTLUCK yet will take place at Heritage Hall a week before Thanksgiving, on Monday October 4. This is Main Street Neighbourhood's party to organize and show off what we can do!

        We will start the evening with family-friendly activities at 6 and then tap deeper into Storm Brewery's local best along with wild, danceable music as the evening progresses.

        This is a showcase of local foods, locally prepared, and shared. Take the opportunity to test out a new Thanksgiving recipe or learn from others. We will be showcasing the "2 Block Diet" and urban agriculture. There will be no cost to anyone (except beer drinkers--but the beer will be nicely-priced).

        We have done this once before, under the banner of NOWBC, and we can do it again. Volunteers welcome, and many hands make light work!
