In this workshop with Dr. Yael Stav, we'll review the opportunities for, and benefits of, vertical gardens in an urban setting. We'll discuss the different systems and technologies available for vertical gardening and talk about the principles of setting up a successful vertical garden on fences, walls, and balconies. We will then set up together a small vertical garden at the McBride Park Field House. Potluck begins at 6, followed by the workshop. Please bring a plate to share.
Come meet with fellow Permaculture enthusiasts to share your skills, knowledge, and questions. This is a great chance to get involved with or start projects around the city!
This Neighbourhood Small Grant project was funded by the Vancouver Foundation and administered by Kitsilano Neighbourhood House.
We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Xwméthkwyiem (Musqueam), Skwxwúmesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
