Event Description

Marvelous Mushrooms: A Shiitake Log Cultivation Workshop

Discover the fascinating world of ancient shiitake log cultivation with mushroom enthusiast, Fabio Martini. In this exciting workshop, you will be introduced to traditional log cultivation methods, as you are guided step by step through the preparation and inoculation of your own take home shiitake mushroom log!
Enjoy home-made mushroom pate and fresh bread as you learn how to care for your shiitake log, and discuss a variety of topics in the world of mycology. We will also be providing a tour of UBC Farm’s Agroforestry Shiitake Mushroom Trial.
