Event Description

Join us in the garden for a harvest party. Free seeds, plant swap, Wild Edible Weeds walk (Lori Snyder) (cancelled due to family emergency), cultured dip tasting (Alyssa Kohlman), Seed Saving mini-workshops (Ross Moster), children's activities - get your picture taken as a bee!, Aberthau artists-in-residence LocoMotoArt (Laura Lee Coles), Harvest Straw Art/Music/Stories (Brian Jones), Permaculture & Pumpkin Patch garden tours, and more. Rain or Shine. All ages welcome!

Hosted by Village Vancouver, the Aberthau Garden Project includes VV's Demonstration Permaculture Garden, the West Point Grey Preschool Garden, and (following last year’s Sunflower Garden) the Pumpkin Patch, a new art/garden project by Aberthau artists-in-residence LocoMotoArt: Laura Lee Coles and Rob Scharein. Emphasizing regenerative, low maintenance and moisture retentive permaculture design elements, including a small hugelkultur, an herb spiral, and saving open pollinated seeds, the garden includes annual and perennial veggies, fruits, herbs and flowers, including pollinator attractants. Offering fun and inclusive social, educational, and cultural activities for community members, including free monthly workshops, newer gardeners garden collaboratively alongside more experienced gardeners, providing a learning experience for everyone.

We have several upcoming workshops and other activities. For more info or to get involved: Ross Moster at or visit Village Vancouver's website .
