Event Description

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 19, 2015
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
DUNBAR STREET AT 29TH AVENUE

The Working Holiday Still Life Harvest Project is a pop-up participatory art + food drive installation that will be presented during the Dunbar Village Harvest Festival. The project will support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

Led by artist Elisa Yon, the project will invite participation and the donation of non-perishable food items from local businesses and community members. Over the course of the day, we will aim to recreate a Dutch still-life painting by Adiaen van Utrecht, entitled Banquet Still Life, 1644. The harvest scene will slowly grow and evolve, composed of food donations and borrowed memorabilia from the community.

Thanks Hendrik. The work will be removed at the end of the day. I think we will begin packing up around 3pm.

Interesting project. As I was born in Utrecht, I should make an attempt to attend... after the Farmers Market where I work until 2pm. I'll be there to admire the work at about 3pm. Will the work be left for awhile or dismantled immediately?
