We let our coop rest for the winter after keeping hens for many years. We're looking to get new laying hens and we want a nice variety.......does anyone know of a place to go to get multiple breeds?

A number of us got ours from Beau Peep hatchery out in the valley in 2014. Huge variety, most sexed. Chicks though so you can't be 100% sure. Were you looking to raise chicks or for pullets?

I was originally thinking point of lay, but wow look at that long list of breeds!

They may have pullets, I don't remember. If you do decide to raise chicks it's totally different than hens. They need to be inside (garage at a minimum), a heat lamp, different feed, and daily cleaning. I can set you up with some of the supplies, just be ready for a pretty big undertaking!

Thanks for the reminder........I think we're all set if you do decide to do chicks.

I don't think I'll be doing chicks again for a while, although for the right price... :) good luck if that's what you decide!

We'll I've gone and done it.....I have chicks coming on Thursday.

You mentioned you have some supplies.....by any chance do you have a chick drinker and feeder? We don't have those things.

I do. I sent you a friend request so you can send me a private message if you want. Beau Peep also sells them, but I'm not using mine.
