Village Vancouver

Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities

Green Gold - Documentary by John D. Liu

Catch and Hold, a permaculture principle humanity has forgotten and defeated nearly everywhere, including Vancouver, teaches the importance of water infiltration into the earth and its absorption into organic-rich soils and plant root systems. Flooding is reduced and water quality is enormously improved, ecosystem services of enormous value.

"It's possible to rehabilitate large-scale damaged ecosystems." Environmental film maker John D. Liu documents large-scale ecosystem restoration projects in China, Africa, South America and the Middle East, highlighting the enormous benefits for people and planet of undertaking these efforts globally.

The principles and lessons from this film need to be applied also in BC, the Lower Mainland, and Vancouver for the costs of ignoring these lessons is already immense.
