HHF Challenge update

Home Harvest Farms commissioned talented, young Vancouver artist, Sam Bradd to help us communicate the enormous potential that urban farming has to counter climate change. Now that the Kyoto Protocol no longer compels our governments to do anything about global warming, it’s up to the people to lead the way and the most effective and accessible for every one of us to do this is to support local agriculture and to grow food ourselves.

Rapidly transforming our society into one that can feed itself will require educational tools par excellence. Sam’s second picture illustrates how to use the HHF planters in a classroom context and will be used in our upcoming presentations to schools and to sustainability focussed organisations. If you are interested in hosting a presentation, please let us know at info@homeharvestfarms.com.

Home Harvest Farms challenges you to have a fruitful and vegetable holiday season.

Movable Raised Beds

Four by two movable raised beds have been added to our list of offerings.

A tidy way to plant your boulevard or to grow food on your deck. If you want to feed your family from a backyard farm, these systems can be laid in rows or stacked three high for vertical farming. They were originally conceived to allow urban farmers who are renting or borrowing backyard space to have the flexibility provided by a movable farm. These planters sit atop of any contaminated or waterlogged soil in Vancouver and Richmond and are perfect on asphalt, concrete and rooftops.

Holiday Harvest Mini Planter – Perfect planter for starting seeds for the coming season. Great for tomatoes. Low cost HHF planters are now available. 2 two-foot stainless steel troughs on a polycarbonate base together with a Sunblaster grow light. They are simpler than our standard troughs and they look fantastic at an unbeatable price.

Partners and commissioned sales

In anticipation of rapid growth in the new year HHF is looking for a partner to bring hands-on expertise in business development with a focus on marketing and sales. Please contact info@homeharvestfarms.com if you would like to join and are able to invest in HHF.

We’re also looking for commissioned sales reps for the new year. Let us know if you’re interested.

Order you planters before the holidays; we’ll warehouse them at no cost until March 1, 2012

HHF planters are all individually hand made. We’re anticipating a flood of orders when spring arrives.

To avoid possible delays in receiving your planters, purchase them before the holidays at www.homeharvestfarms.com/shop and we’ll warehouse them for you at no cost until March 1, 2012.

Let the press know and shout it out loud on social media

Canadians are ready to combat climate change with or without the support of our government. We’re planting gardens and we’re teaching ourselves to farm because we know that this will make a difference.
