Robin Wheeler has passed away

Sad news. Our great friend and ally, Robin Wheeler, passed away Monday afternoon, after battling pancreatic cancer for the past year. A kind, wise, patient and loving soul, Robin was the author of Gardening for the Faint of Heart and Food Security for the Faint of Heart, founder of the Sustainable Living Arts School and One Straw Society, and taught several dozen workshops for Village over the past 3 years.…

Volunteer Chefs wanted for Community Kitchens at the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House

Hello:

The Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House is looking for volunteer chefs to help us run a variety of community kitchens/food workshops (see description below and attached).

I understand you run such workshops and am wondering if someone from VV might be available to volunteer with us once a month, or help us connect with chefs who might be able to do this.

Thank you,

Melanie

Help plan future Kits Transition Village activities and direction

Hey all!

Interested in helping plan future Kits Village activities and direction?

Good things are cooking in our village -- figuratively, as well as  literally! Currently, activities include monthly potlucks/garden parties, movie nights, and dropin spaghetti nights.

Last year we gardened collaboratively at Kits House and this year we're looking to start a new garden at Billy Bishop Legion Hall -- and perhaps in other locations as well.

We just had our 1st Soup…
