Artichoke bulb give away

Last year's artichokes have produced about 100 bulbs, I've already given many away and have more.  Feel free to let me know if you'd like some.  Growing them requires a wide berth.

Usually, we can only see them when we look back from a distance. In 1793, the great democrat Thomas Paine said the French…

Is Anyone Looking For Gardening Space?

Having just read in the Sunday "Province" that there are lots of people still looking for gardening space, I am hoping that this post may interest someone. I have garden space available in SE Vancouver, around the 45th and Victoria/Knight area. The back yard has east and south exposure, and the front yard (with 3 raised beds) has south and west exposure. The back yard has raspberries that produce an awesome crop each year, and there is also a rhubarb plant, but aside from that, you are free to… Continue

Wanted: Photos and stories of WILD YARDS

I'm collecting photos and info on Wild Yards. For my purposes, this means a yard that contains useful plant communities requiring little or no human intervention to thrive. I'm more interested in yards that are loved and used rather than just neglected. Got any photos or stories to share? Know of a local WILD YARD that I should check out? Please let me know. Thanks :)
