Welcome, Gudrun!

We are taking over the city by stealth, and without planning, a defined plan, or any orchestration of any kind.  People are just playing their own tunes.

And, to no one's surprise, the music sounds both concordant and united.

I hope you'll find there's nothing here not to like.

WE ARE PLANNING BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE!

And we may look like warm and fuzzy, weed-stoked hippies...and some of us are...but we mean business.

We are going to terraform this city into the REAL "world's most livable city," by unleashing every resident's will and power to restore, renovate, and craft an affordable, re-localized collection of diverse and mutually supportive communities in which we can all get what we need and contribute whatever we may wish, with LOW OR NO CARBON FOOTPRINT.

No more developer predation, no more sell-outs, no more city-sponsored, taxpayer-subsidized real estate junkets like "False Village up a Creek" AND every other foreign-owned glass and concrete tower development in town.

We can take back our city, and here is the key: develop multiple, powerful, grassroots movements that are focussed on doing the right thing.  We can crowd out the developers and deprive them of their prey.

We can grow our own food and share it widely.  We can hold together neighbourhoods and protect our most vulnerable residents.  We can restore our housing stock and house people affordably by working together to protect what we have.  We can save enormous amounts of energy by working together to retrofit our homes; promote transit, walking, and cycling; build and support complete communities with all services within walking distance of every home; and even launch our own currency!

All of that is happening here.

And it is happening because of the involvement of great people like you, just doing what you already do.

More later.

- Randy
