I am an artist in residence at the Dunbar Community Centre (2015-2016). I would love to engage with community members interested in food/agriculture in Dunbar.

Working Holiday project at the Dunbar Community Centre

Working Holiday is a socially oriented art project that aims to engage the Dunbar community in a collaborative exploration into what constitutes a holiday. Artists Elisa Yon, Leah Weinstein, and Jaspal Marwah bring a diverse range of art practices in: sculpture, textiles, crafts, performance, site specific installations, socially engaged art, and architecture. Starting in the fall of 2015, the artists will present a year-long series of “season specific” art interventions, in response to traditional holidays and the everyday self-made holiday. Hands-on crafting activities, pop-up participatory installations, and food-based collaborations are just some of the ways the artists will engage community members in a collective reimagining of what constitutes a holiday.

Hi Elisa,

Welcome to Village! My wife, Laura Lee Coles (Loco Moto Art), is an artist in residence at Aberthau, and Village has some food/art projects going.

Are you doing anything for Sustenance Festival? We did a Native Edibles workshop there last year.

Would you like to chat about what we're all doing?

Take care,
Ross
