In which Vancouver neighbourhood or other community do you live?
West Point Grey
Please tell us which areas of Transition interest you. For example: growing more food/urban agriculture, relocalizing our economy/local currency, Permaculture, transit, energy efficient buildings, the arts, urban homesteading, preserving seed diversity, placemaking, potlucks, outreach, organizing events, community-building, having fun while saving the world, or...
local currency, permaculture, potlucks, fun, community-building, environmental education
There's a saying that "Transition is not a spectator sport". It's true! Village Vancouver runs on people power, and engaging in activities and projects together helps us accomplish more. Which groups, networks, neighbourhood villages, or projects do you think you might be interested in getting involved with? And what knowledge, skills, resources or other assets can you bring to the mix? (Don't be bashful!)
I´d like to meet you at potlucks and get to know more about the activities happening in VV. I am a phd student at ubc. I study social networks in rural ecotourism communities in Ghana. I like fixing things (or at least I try), I enjoy conversation, I am artistic (decorate, I play guitar, I sing). I can teach guitar. I can teach spanish and catalan conversation. I am good with the powerpoint, word and excel. I am a creative thinker, and positive person. Is any of this helpful to VV?
What would you like to see improved in Vancouver or in your community regarding sustainability or resiliency? Do you have an idea for a new Transition project or activity?
I still don't know enough about what has been done or is currently happening so I can't suggest much yet. But I would like to see more people talking to each other on the streets, neighbours helping each other (kids who are good at computers teaching elderly people in the neighbourhood how to open an email account, or how to install printer, etc. harvest swaps, book swaps, seed, tools, experiences)

Hi Ana,

Welcome to Village Vancouver! It looks like a lot of your skills and interests will be useful/herlpful in Village. I'll send you an invite to join Kits Village (our most active village). We have a few things coming up, including a seed library box painting afternoon on Monday, if you'd like to help out there. (See the event post in EVENTS,)

Cheers,
Ross
