Vancouver's Leader in Transition toward Strong, Resilient, Complete Communities
it feels lonely here (3 members, only one actually from Richmond)
where is everyone..
Permaculture Richmond is changing it's paradigm... We are going to do one last Blitz at Terra Nova for the winter, and then begin meeting inside, NE richmond.
Anyone near Terra Nova, please let us know as we need a few people helping out with the our area, Perennial Lane. 1-4 hours a month. We may be able to pay you in alternative currency or you can log in your hours at the time bank, and get a massage, bike repair, or whatever you need in trade.
We have been working on P. Lane for a year now, and we are convinced it is about to go! We have just seen a few Savoy cabbages out there and they look good.
We are planning to put in some plants this month as the rains come, and it is still mild.
But for sure we need to see our community, and get to know each other.
We see lots of people, and we hope to see you all more, and maybe by getting to know each other indoors, we can find out what it is that we are really interested in, and put more innovation into our endeavors.
This group was started a few years ago as I understand, and then became Richmond Food Security, which is serving an urgent need, as nutrients, it turns out, turn our genes on and off. And foreign substances wreak havoc on us, but luckily with proper nutrition, it is quickly repaired. (Joel Salatin - "Folks, This Ain't Normal" - Book)

If you have to leave your village, how will you get where you want to go? By car? Preferably not, both for your wallet and the earth’s sake. This category is for all discussions relating to how we all get around.

A human right? After food, most feel shelter is the most important necessity. A place of shelter is also the start of a community. This category is for all things relating to shelter, housing, affordable housing, homes, renewable heating systems, green buildings, heritage, and our built environment in general.
