Westside Neighbourhood Food Network is one of the largest and most active neighbourhood food networks in Vancouver, engaging in a wide variety of projects and activities including workshops, collaborative gardens, community potlucks, seed libraries, a recycling depot, helping to organize the Westside Food Festival, and more. We also provide advice and other support for other local food projects. In this one hour info session, network coordinator Ross Moster will discuss what a neighbourhood food network is, what WNFN is up to, and how you can participate. We'll have the VV Kits branch VPL community seed library present - pick up some free seeds for your garden, swap or donate some seeds.
2nd annual Westside Food Festival July 5th- August 9th, 2018
Over 90 free activities and workshops in twenty plus locations around the Westside! Register for individual actvities and workshops on Eventbrite. For more info: Facebook or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Gardening & gardening-related workshops, and other gardening activities are part of Village Vancouver's Building Community Food Security and Resilience Project. This project is made possible by the BC Ministry of Agriculture's Grow Local program. We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Agriculture.
We also acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Xwméthkwyiem (Musqueam), Skwxwúmesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
