Event Description

If you are seriously interested in the future of Village Surrey I hope you can attend this meeting:

Thursday May 23rd at 7 pm
Location: Bear Creek Park, by northeast entrance (close to 140th St. and 88th Ave.) picnic tables (includes covered protection in case of rain)

We will discuss the Transition model using the example of Totnes (the city in England where Transition movement was first developed) with special emphasis on the issues of governance and active participatory decentralized and transparent self-organization. I will be reporting the recent testimonial by one of my friends who visited Totnes Transition Town one week ago.
http://www.transitiontowntotnes.org/about/what-is-transition/how-transition-works/

In addition, we will be discussing Basic Transition Projects - i.e., projects that could be started by even two people (e.g., skill sharing, carpooling, 'food sharing' such as foraging / bulk shopping / home-grown food and plant exchange / food co-op / etc., tool sharing, clothing exchange, congregational projects, etc. etc.).

Please bring your constructive ideas, and help to jump-start Village Surrey in the genuine spirit of Transition movement!

Take care,
Behrouz
