Event Description

Learn to identify edible and medicinal plants growing in Vancouver neighbourhoods! Foraging the city is a great way to get grounded in your neighbourhood by getting to know your neighbours whether they are plant, mineral, animal or human.

Students will learn about:

How to identify edible plants growing wild in city
The importance of eating from a local environment
Common uses of edible/medicinal plants in the area

Instructor: Sonja Hebert

Sonja is an herbalist, and budding wild crafter. She has been involved in community building through co-operative living for the past 10 years. Adding to previous herbal studies, she recently completed an 8 month course through the Urban Herb School and has been foraging the city for edibles ever since.
