Event Description

Explore the basics of tree pruning and care with Laura Ralph, ISA Certified Arborist and owner of Alive & Well Organic Gardening.  Learn how to prune with clear objectives and an understanding of how trees will respond to pruning cuts.  Pruning of both fruit trees and ornamentals will be discussed.  After an indoor presentation, participants will look at pruning trees outside the centre.  Please dress appropriately for the weather.

We're happy to offer this workshop at a discounted rate as part of the Urban Farming Workshop Series sponsored by Vancity and with support from the Strathcona Community Centre.

A human right? After food, most feel shelter is the most important necessity. A place of shelter is also the start of a community. This category is for all things relating to shelter, housing, affordable housing, homes, renewable heating systems, green buildings, heritage, and our built environment in general.
