Event Description

Village Vancouver is sending a contingent by train for the day to view and enjoy this great event in our neighbouring county across the border. Contact Randy to join the trip.

This will be an extravaganza, a celebration and thanks for those who have worked so hard to protect the wild places and to make Whatcom County the amazing, creative, caring community it is - and a time to acknowledge the coming challenges to our lifestyles because of energy resource issues, to envision a more resilient future, and begin planning for how we'll respond to coming energy changes while dramatically reducing our carbon emissions and dependence on foreign oil.

I announced this at one of Vancouver’s Training for Transition weekends as a mid March event but…. We got a great location for April 10th! Hope you can all pop down and visit us!

Feel free to send money! We are hoping to have a fun extravaganza! Our keynotes are Vicki Robin, Francis Moore Lappe, Trathen Heckman and… Rob Hopkins will do a personal DVD greeting for us. We will have skill building sessions, panels, heart and soul workshops, displays, a ‘Room of Doom’ (or ‘Hall of Horrors’), a Visioning room, …..the fun just never stops!

See you all there!

Amtrak tickets are still available for $35 round trip. A passport or enhanced BC driver's license is necessary. We leave Vancouver on Saturday from Main Stain Station at Terminal Avenue at 6:40 AM for a full day of celebration with food, music, talks, conversation, activities, and more food and drink. We plan to return by train arriving at 10:50 PM.

Others may also be going down for Sunday's events as well. Leave a comment here, if you are interested in going either day.

See how Transition really gets moving from a group that is off to an early and great start.
