UPDATE--

Limited to 80 participants; 5 spaces left as of noon, May 30th.

The Turning continues within each of us as we learn and work together on all the innovative ways we can bring positive change into our lives, our communities, and our world. MEET UP with all the participants, and whomever else you may want to invite into this amazing community of change agents on MONDAY, MAY 30!  After breaking bread together with a pot luck feast, we will hear a couple of 10-minute Turning Talks and circle up into neighbourhoods to explore the dynamic ways we can stay engaged and connected in this essential work. This Great Turning Meet Up is hosted by Village Vancouver and Be The Change Earth Alliance.

Please take note of the following details:

  • The Oakridge United Church is located at 305 West 41 Avenue, one block East of the Oakridge 41st Canada Line station. Please use the door facing West 41and follow the signs downstairs.
  • We will be asking for a small donation at the door to help cover the costs of the venue rental and staff.
  • We would prefer that your dish be vegetarian and/or vegan-friendly. Please bring a note indicating ingredients. We will also have cards available at the venue for ingredient labelling.
  • Please bring your own eating utensils (plate, cutlery, cup, napkins, etc.). This is the Village Vancouver way – no fuss and no muss to clean up after the event!
  • Please bring along a personal calendar or agenda so that you can help inform future meeting dates. There will likely be a couple of circle meetings in June, possibly a Summer social, and finally a focused “Circle Connection” in the Fall.

WHEN: 6:30 – 9:30 pm  MONDAY, MAY 30th

If you have to leave your village, how will you get where you want to go? By car? Preferably not, both for your wallet and the earth’s sake. This category is for all discussions relating to how we all get around.

Housing

A human right? After food, most feel shelter is the most important necessity. A place of shelter is also the start of a community. This category is for all things relating to shelter, housing, affordable housing, homes, renewable heating systems, green buildings, heritage, and our built environment in general.
