The Purple Thistle Radical Gardeners are having a celebration and open 'house' at our gardens in industrial East Strathcona on Saturday, May 21 from 12-3pm. Come join us for food, song, and to find out how to get involved! We're youth driven, horizontal, and just starting to put our plans for a food forest in our neighborhood into motion - 7 layers of edibles and restored wetland habitat on degraded land bordering on the train tracks. We've got bees, worms, crops, public planters, and many a project on the go, we're growing and there's so much room to join in!
Hope to see ya out on the streets, one way or the other -

If you have to leave your village, how will you get where you want to go? By car? Preferably not, both for your wallet and the earth’s sake. This category is for all discussions relating to how we all get around.

A human right? After food, most feel shelter is the most important necessity. A place of shelter is also the start of a community. This category is for all things relating to shelter, housing, affordable housing, homes, renewable heating systems, green buildings, heritage, and our built environment in general.
