Event Description

On Saturday September 26, join us for a day of connection with our community, our food and our food lands -- right on the farm itself!

The day will involve workshops and discussions led by inspiring and influential food system leaders. Workshop topics include:

-Indigenous Coast Salish food systems, places and practices
-Food forestry walk & forage
-Food-centred activism, including Food Secure Canada's Eat Think Vote campaign for the upcoming federal election
-Mindful food consumption as meditative practice
-Sacred food traditions and rituals

To complete the day, we will share a slow, mindful meal as a community, celebrating food as an element that brings us together and nourishes our body and spirit.

*$20 registration required to cover the cost of food and workshops

This is a part of a larger event series hosted by the Salish Sea Spiritual Ecology Alliance (SSSSEA): http://spiritualecologyalliance.org/

Great to hear it, Hendrik! If you can, I recommend to join us for the full day - the opening good ceremony will be very meaningful :) also don't forget to register online so we save your spot/know numbers for food! You can pay cash at the event if you don't want to use a cc. Email me if you have questions : samanthagambling@gmail.com

Very interested in the topics. Would like to participate. Working the Trout Lake Farmers Market selling Megaphone Magazine until I make $20.=, then I'll head out to UBC Farm. Hope I'll make it on time, or join you later in the afternoon perhaps?
