Event Description

Reducing paper consumption by 50% has been identified as one of the 'Top 5' biggest potential Ecological Footprint-reducing contributions being used by the Greenest City Lighter Footprint "Feet to the Fire" Committee as a baseline.

In this workshop offered by Village Vancouver, Joy Jolie will share with participants the mos practical tips and techniques for reducing paper use and paper waste in the home and office.

We'll explore alternatives to using paper for sharing information, keeping your home clean, minimizing paper use for hygiene and other common areas of paper consumption.

Here are just a few examples of paper-saving techniques in the home and office that we’ll discuss:

  1. Print duplex or two to a page
  2. Scan to PDF and go digital
  3. Use an electronic diary
  4. Send e-cards
  5. Use a whiteboard
  6. Electronic memo’s and bulletins
  7. Be selective
  8. Proof work on screen
  9. Use 100% post-consumer paper
  10. Recycle, recycle, recycle

Participants will come away from the workshop knowing how to contribute to a healthier home, community and planet through minimal paper use and a solid understanding of the environmental impact of paper waste in our waste stream.

FREE. Limited to 25 participants
