Come enjoy a meal created and hosted by a Kits neighbour.
Tonight's meal will be hosted by Russell Cameron near 5th and Trafalgar. Open to anyone, the drop-ins are especially aimed at neighbours living close to the host (usually within 2 or 3 blocks).
This is the 3rd in a series of several dinnerstaking place between July and November, and is supported by a Green Neighbourhood Small Grant from the Vancouver Foundation (administered by Kits Neighbourhood House), to increase awareness of our food sources and promote community connections.
They’re called Drop-in “Spaghetti” nights, because many of the ones we've held in the past have involved serving spaghetti. Each meal, however, is different, depending on what the host wants to serve. Tonight's meal will be vegetarian.
Limited to 10 participants. Please BYO plate, bowl, cutlery! Exact address will be emailed a couple days before the dinner to everyone who RSVP's here or to ross@villagevancouver.ca.
The source of the ingredients will be tracked, and we'll collate how local our eating habits are at a community- wide Drop-in "Spaghetti" gathering on November 29th.
The next evening will be hosted by Elaine and Kayla on Sunday, October 21st, near 1st and Alma.

Comment by Ross Moster on October 14, 2012 at 12:09pm In lieu of tonight's dropin, a few of us have decided to get together to enjoy some veggie chili and salad at Mary's (also around 5th and Trafalgar).
Room for a few more people. Let me know if you'd like to join us.

Comment by Ross Moster on October 13, 2012 at 1:52pm Valentine, we just decided to reschedule it to Nov. 23, so we have a little more time to invite neighbours. (Before you and Alex RSVPed, only a couple responses.)

A human right? After food, most feel shelter is the most important necessity. A place of shelter is also the start of a community.
