Event Description

How do you engage a whole community in a transition
driven by energy descent? What are the lessons from
the Transition Town model and movement after 5
years? The workshop will be open and interactive
engaging participants in activities that set the context
for Transition and provide an overview of the model,
the movement, and Transition examples from other places in the world.

Lena Soots is a Research Associate and Instructor at
the Centre for Sustainable Community Development
at Simon Fraser University and a PhD Candidate in the
Faculty of Education. A member of the Village
Vancouver Steering Committee and a certified
Transition Trainer, she works with communities to
build resilience and create sustainable futures.

Co-sponsored by Langara College Continuing Studies and Village Vancouver. Offered as part of Langara's Summer School on Building Community.
