Event Description

Meet at entrance to Lily trail oppossite 12th Avenue on Blanca Street

Forests work very hard and are of great benefit to all the species that live on Planet Earth. Terry will talk about what a forest is and how it functions.

How do mushrooms keep trees alive, how do they recycle them back in the ground again, how are the alders the first forest and when and how do they give way to the evergreens. What are the characteristics and uses for swamps and wetlands.

Terry Tayor has studied the Botany and Ecology of the local forests for 40 years and is a storehouse of information. He received the Queen's Jubille Award for Nature Education in 2003. He does plant identification studies, is a member of several local naturalist societies and gived walks regulalry for the Mytocological Society.
