Event Description

This course is designed for those who are beginners in food gardening and would love to feel more confident about understanding garden systems and food production. Students will learn garden terms (the fun way!), find the magic of "microclimates", make design choices, learn plant selection skills, how to properly “read” and use seed catalogues, simple soil improvement and more.

Robin Wheeler founded the Sustainable Living Arts School because she is passionate about teaching the simple, low tech skills we need to live sustainably both in the country and in the city. She's the author of Gardening for the Faint of Heart and Food Security for the Faint of Heart (both from New Society Publishers). She's also a very funny and wise teacher. You'll leave inspired, with the skills to grow more food! For more on Robin's work visit

Register by phone: 604-323-5322
Cost: $85 (50543)
