Event Description

Gift-wrapping: made easy and ecological
Come to Kits House's Community Living Room and learn about FUROSHIKI - Japanese-style gift wrap with fabric squares.
Keiko Honda is bringing some books and examples.
This is Mary Bennett's first year as a furoshiki devotee and she'll share her enthusiasm and what she's learned.
Mary's favorite is wrapping two bottles of wine in a large fabric square.

If you want to make your own, bring fabric that can be cut into squares - usually 28" or 36" square are standard sizes.
We'll have pinking shears for easily cutting the edges, but you can take home to sew (unless a sewing machine magically appears :>)

When: Tuesday, December 22
Time: 6:30 - 8:30pm
Where: 2305 West 7th at Vine
Bring: (optional) snacks to share; pinking shears; sewing machine, iron and ironing pad (If you're bringing the last three, let mary know so we don't have 8 of them!

Bring your own fabric (cotton and linen is traditional. Anything works. Mary recommends curtains from the Sally Ann!
