SUMMARY:Fruit Tree Budding Workshop!
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to make your own fruit tree! Fruit trees are cre
ated through the process of grafting or budding – taking the bud of
a desired fruit tree variety and attaching it to a different rootstock
. If you’d like to create a fruit tree for your yard, or develop num
erous trees for fruit production, this is a great way to do it.\nThis
workshop will be taught by Kent Mullinix, Director of Sustainable Agri
culture and Food Security at Kwantlen University’s Institute for Sus
tainable Horticulture. Activities will take place on site at Evergreen
’s Urban Orchard. Tools will be provided, and everyone will get to t
ake their newly ‘budded’ tree home with them. If you don’t have
anywhere to put the plant, you can also leave it with Evergreen to add
to our Urban Orchard. Refreshments will also be provided.\nRSVP here!
Space is limited!\nFor more information on the workshop series or Eve
